Dangerously begin to build his "Dangerous Alliance." He's already managing Rick Rude and Madusa, and Jim Ross has intimated that he wants to add even more people to his group. On Monday, Bobby Eaton joined forces with Paul E., making his much-rumoured heel turn. Dangerously will also apparently become the manager of The Enforcers, and perhaps Steve Austin, and there are rumours of WCW talking to Dino Bravo to bring him into Dangerously's stable. They also hinted at a Johnny B. Badd face turn at the tapings. Johnny & Diamond Studd fought P.N.News & Tom Zenk in an early match, and after the match Studd & Diamond Dallas Page (who is rumoured to be on his way to becoming a wrestler) jumped Badd and beat him up, with News making the save. Later in the taping, P.N.News met the Diamond Studd in a singles match. The Studd got the pin when Diamond Dalla Page held News' legs so he couldn't kick out. Before the ring cleared, Johnny B. Badd came down and explained to the referee what had just happened, with a brawl breaking out, and P.N.News & Johnny B. Badd clearing the ring. They then shook hands. Johnny B. Badd's manager, Theodore R. Long, was nowhere to be seen. - Just finished watching my tapes of the WCW shows from TBS on the weekend. Still lots of "We Want Flair!" chants throughout the show, quite audible during Van Hammer's match again. Also many chants of "Boring!" during the squash matches. One interesting comment from Jim Ross during the Mike Graham vs. Johnny B. Badd match. Ross mentioned that Graham had an interesting nickname, "The Squeegee Man," but that nobody had really explained the meaning of it yet. Of course, Ross is making a reference to the story (that was posted here and discussed by many) of Sid Justice and his deadly squeegee challenging Brian Pillman & Mike Graham to a brawl in a bar (having backed down from a fair fight with either Pillman or Graham). The week before, Ross mentioned that "you wouldn't believe the big men that Mike Graham has backed down." - WCW rumours have Rick Rude defeating Sting at the Clash of Champions XVII on Tuesday, and the Young Pistols defeating the Patriots for the US titles in the near future. (Everyone repeat after me: YES!) - Good news for Canadian wrestling fans. Viewers Choice Canada will be televising the WWF Survivor Series at the end of this month and will be televising WCW's Battle Bowl at the end of December. The WWF show will cost $24.95 and the WCW show will cost $21.99. - Rick Steamboat's place at the house shows will be taken by Chris Chavis, who passed his try-out at the last batch of WWF tapings, I guess. I had heard that he'd be playing the standard xenophobic Indian character, but don't know his exact gimmick. Steamboat's place at Surivor Series will be taken by Tito San..., er..., sorry, El Matador. While we're talking about El Matador, is he calling for a new booker during his matches or what? I just catch him constantly shouting "Ole!" ;-) - Bobby Heenan has missed some appearances with Ric Flair at the house shows because of a nagging neck problem. - Lately, we've had some confusion regarding the second WWF PPV, to take place in early December. I'll try to explain the facts as I know them. Original reports of the WWF holding a PPV event in the week immediately following Survivor Series had the date as December 6th. This date was posted to the net. I'm unsure whether the WWF actually changed the date before "announcing" it, or whether the original reports just had the wrong date, but the WWF then "announced" the date as December 3rd. "Announced" is in quotes because the fans haven't been told about it (except in the San Antonio local area) but the PPV companies have been told about it. As far as I know, the PPV will be just under two hours long, will have the cheaper price tag of $12.95, and will feature - Hulk Hogan vs. The Undertaker for the WWF Title - Bret Hart vs. Skinner for the IC Title - Ric Flair vs. Roddy Piper - Ted DiBiase & IRS vs. Virgil & Big Bossman. Then somebody from the San Antonio area (sorry, I didn't save the name) posted that the newspapers were advertising both Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair and Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels for December 9th in San Antonio. My guess is that this December 9th show is the next WWF taping, and it's being done in the San Antonio area to minimize travelling expenses (The WWF has taken a "localized" approach to scheduling events now, trying to work an area and it's surroundings with the same group so that cars can be used to get the wrestlers around from show to show instead of more expensive planes). Both of these Ric Flair matches could easily take place at the same tapings, one for Flair & Hulk Hogan to work through the rough spots of their second match booking, and one at Shawn Michaels' request before he turns heel on TV (The Rockers are already shoving each other after matches at certain house shows), to be taped for a Coliseum Home Video. Does anybody have any contrary information, or can I still believe everything written above? Herb...
